Moth Night Results

The largest moth of the evening was this Poplar Hawkmoth

 The National Moth Night took place across the country last weekend. In Carmarthenshire well over 2,000 individual moths were recorded, of 198 different species. These totals included both macro moths (the big ones) and micro moths (the small ones).

We held a moth-trapping session in Troserch Woods on Thursday night, using mercury vapour lights to attract the moths into a trap to be identified and later released and in total recorder 57 different species. Many thanks to all those who helped out.
