A young Willow Warbler and Painted Lady Butterfly.

This young Willow Warbler was seen in the woods today feeding itself up for its imminent trip back to Africa - hopfully we will see it back next year. Talking of Africa we also had the first record for this year of a Painted Lady butterfly. These butterflies migrate to our woods from North Africa each year though sadly do not return.

This now brings our butterfly total this year to 17 different species.
