Fungi in Troserch Woods

Branched Oyster Mushroom
Being neither plant or animal, fungi exist in a kingdom all of their own, come in a myriad of shapes and sizes and can evoke the strangest feelings when suddenly encountered in the depths of a woodland. During the autumn keep a careful eye open as you wander the paths around the woods, look under any bush, or better still take a little detour amongst the trees themselves and see what you can find.

We have started an online album of the fungi species encountered in Troserch Woods over the last few years - why not check it out here. If you come across any interesting examples, take a picture and we can add it to our album for others to enjoy. If you have any experience with fungi, please let us know as we would welcome your help, and any comments or corrections you can make to the album would be appreciated.
